Sailing to Middle Bass
So for father’s day my family decided it was time I went sailing so they arranged for a bareboat sailboat charter for me. My father also decided to take a break from his retirment job of renovating a decrepid house in which he and my mother will some day live to come along for the weekend. Of course my father, trying to maximize the amount of time he works on this beast of a house, decided to drive up from Columbus separatly. Needless to say he didn’t arrive until 10pm and along the way a nice state trooper requested he donate $100 to the State of Ohio’s
When I arrived at the charter company I was greated by Carl the care taker at which I was shown to the boat. The boat is a 1980s something Catalina 30′ that for its age is seems to be in pretty good shape. I’m a little worried about a car battery charger that is loosly seated on the starbord shelf above one of the benchs in the salon… but everything seems ok other than that. I’ll report on our progress tomorrow after I’ve gotten a chance to get the sails up and see how she handles. Stay tuned…
